Whaly of Texas is a sole proprietorship owned by Steve R. Jackson and his wife, Ginny.

Our boating journey began in 1970 on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Since then, we have relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas, where we spent countless hours cruising the Laguna Madre, including a memorable overnight passage traveling to and from Houston with a midnight marina stop.

Over the years, we have owned seven to eight boats, ranging in size from 24 feet to 41 feet, gaining hands-on experience across a wide variety of vessels. Boating has always been a family passion—our children were introduced to life on the water when they were still babies.

Steve has studied yachts for more than 60 years, reading thousands of respected boating magazines and industry publications purely out of a love for the business. His experience includes time aboard vessels up to 287-foot super yachts, offering a deep understanding of both recreational and luxury boating.

Nothing brings us more joy than sharing this knowledge with our customers and training new owners to confidently and safely pilot their own boats.

We have proudly supported Whaly products since 2021, first discovering them at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. We immediately recognized the quality and versatility of the Whaly line and decided to represent and sell their full product lineup from our location in Kemah, Texas. The South Houston area is the third-largest recreational boating community in the United States, providing a unique market opportunity.

Our experience also includes selling Carver yachts at their Kemah dealership, where Steve served as captain and logged over 100 hours aboard a 73-foot Marquis motor yacht, a vessel valued at approximately $3 million at the time. In total, Steve has accumulated well over 2,000 hours on the water, in addition to the hundreds of hours spent training and mentoring clients over the past 15 to 20 years.
